Happy Days wishes to congratulation Piers Ryan on  his climb of Mt Kilimanjaro in June in aid of the Childrens Hospital Crumlin!

Happy Days was delighted to support  this wonderful cause.

RTE programme ' Nationwide' interviewed Piers at his last training session. This was shown on June 15th at 7pm while Piers is doing his Climb.

Many of you will know Piers from our shows he was Mr Sowberry in the Matinee production of Oliver and he appeared in film Penticost ! He also was one of the Stage Management team in 'Happy Days at the Helix!'

Piers is the only member of the Climbing team from North County Dublin. He is a senior member of 'The Happy Days School of Performing Arts' in Swords & has been a pupil there for 10 years.

·············· Piers was part of a team of 13 teenage boys & 5 mentors preparing to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.The boys are all Transition year students from Belvedere College in Dublin. Their training for this huge event continues & to date they have been away climbing Croagh Patrick, training weekly in the Wicklow Mountains, climbing Slieve Foy in Carlingford, the Galtee Mountains Tipperary & the Burren in Co.Clare. ········ The team· have chosen 'OUR LADY'S CHILDRENS HOSPITAL' Crumlin, Oncology Department as the charity they wish to do the climb for and have visited some of the children in the unit.

······· Piers and his team left Dublin on June 12th & return on June 24rd .Mt Kilimanjaro is the 4th highest mountain in the World ( 19 341 ft) It takes approx 7-10 days to reach the summit.
